Kirk Jansen
Lead Chemist
In 2007, Cherney chose to further develop our chemistry program, and we found the right man for the job. Since joining Cherney in 2007, Kirk has been a tremendous asset to the company’s Chemistry department. Kirk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, an ACS Certification Program. Prior to joining Cherney, he worked as a Scientist at Pharmaceutical Product Development. While with Cherney, Kirk has been instrumental in the implementation of numerous new services including adding Water Activity, Spectrophotometer and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) methods. In addition to his work in the Chemistry department, Kirk is also the Safety Officer for all chemical and workplace safety related programs. Cherney benefits from Kirk’s continued interest in learning, as he puts it best, “I am finding cheese and food science more interesting than I ever imagined.”
