"Elevating him to President will strengthen the leadership team and the company as a whole during this time of rapid growth and development."

Brian joined Cherney’s team in October 2012 with 26 years of leadership experience mostly in product development, engineering, operations, strategic planning, and extensive LEAN methodology applications.   In his role as General Manager, Brian was responsible for all functions of the business related to its daily operations. His leadership has benefited Cherney’s customers through his steadfast approach to continually improving quality and service through building the strength of Cherney’s internal team at both locations.

"It's truly an honor to be promoted in an organization that has such a high reputation for being an industry leader in the world of food safety," said Brian Van de Water. "Everyone here understands the critical nature of the role we play ensuring that our customers supply safe, high quality products to the marketplace. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities associated with this new role, and to what the future holds for us as an organization. Debra’s new role and Cherney’s continued focus on exceeding the expectations of our customers will only strengthen our strategic partnership with them.”

Debra’s role within the organization will allow her to step back from the daily responsibilities of the organization and engage more fully in industry & trade groups, consultative opportunities and enjoying time with her family who supported this dream 26 years ago.

“While this transition may appear bittersweet, it is just another example of how change is key to business success. With my company in Brian’s competent hands, I will now focus on new priorities that excite my entrepreneurial spirit, such as my involvement with the Food Laboratory Alliance. My transition to a new role and responsibilities is as exciting as starting the company.   Cherney Microbiological’ s future is bright and strong as solid management is in place.”

During the week of May 4th, Debra will be in Washington D.C. meeting with members of Congress and the FDA as part of the Food Laboratory Alliance, an organization devoted to the safety of the nation’s food supply and the quality of food laboratory testing.
