Our blog to kick of 2017 related to starting of the year on the right with FOCUS – focus for your company, focus for your food safety plan and focus for continuing education. We announced our 2017 Cherney College course listing for the year and talked high level about our strategic initiatives to increase our technical training opportunities outside of our building. With only a month under our belt, our first course – FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food class is complete and went off quite well.
If you have attended one of our classes or are considering it, know that everything we do it intentional. Our smaller class size – intentional. Customized material – intentional. Real life examples with an open forum - intentional. Believe us when we say “we’re not just an education provider; we want to be your partner!” I had to opportunity to talk with a few of our participants yesterday during lunch and here is what they had to say.
- “This is the most comfortable session I’ve been to in a long time. I have not felt that there was one question I wouldn’t be able to have answered or that I was out of place for bringing up a concern.”
- “Pharmaceutical, dairy, produce and ingredients all in one room! Who knew that we would have so much in common and all for the right reasons!”
Another trend that we are seeing specifically in relationship to FSMA is the next generation (or wave) or participants beginning to complete their training. While most if not all of the larger companies have at least 1 PQCI individual on staff as mandated, the small and very small companies are taking that next step to compliance. Why is this important? It shows first and foremost that they are just as serious about food safety as everyone else! It is a sign of their commitment to being compliant with the rules and regulations set forth.
The middle of the year is class focused for Cherney and before your schedules fill too quickly – we STRONGLY encourage you to visit our Cherney College page to register for these upcoming training opportunities as they are filling fast!
